--
a 'forgettable' game from the first drop of the puck. The refereeing
was about the best part of the game from our standpoint. We were given
seven powerplay opportunities -- Greenwich had one. This was the first
time we've been shutout in a long time. Our powerplay, which to this
point, at least had generated a lot of shots, if not goals, was ineffective
-- it broke down from the outset. There was little thought given to
'systems' -- in any zone by any player. Greenwich seemed filled with
'hungry' players, complemented by outstanding coaching. It was obvious
from the outset that the Greenwich players want it 'bad'. Especially
disappointing was the lack of any recognizable forecheck -- especially
after so much work throughout the last couple of weeks. And, without
any attention to DZ responsibilities and breakout responsibilities,
we were, of course, susceptible to a hard forechecking strategy --
the very game we wanted to play. The Greenwich players showed the
effectiveness of good, strong, hard forechecking in their play. We
were able to generate no offense. And, playing in our DZ for most
of the game, our HB's and D were exceptionally tired. I suppose the
only defense we might have is the fact that we just finished playing
the Brunswick game. Next week, there can be no 'tired' excuses. We
need to refocus, accept our responsibility in the team's success,
and work hard throughout the week. Our game against the Hill School
JV this week, will be our opportunity to elevate our game -- and,
I might add, my opportunity to elevate my game.
