This was a game to remember -- one of the best 'first' games of the year in recent memory. We played well in the first period, getting a goal -- not so well in the second, giving up three in a 60 second time span -- and coming back to win, scoring 4 in the third. I was particularly impressed with the effort of all, in getting our first win of the season. There are few things, made obvious in the game, that will require a lot of attention in the coming weeks.

a. better shot selection on the power play
b. more attention on the forecheck
c. more attention to our checks in the d-zone
d. more passing
e. more accurate passing
f. more situational awareness
g. better pace of play

I am really looking forward to a great year. I hope we can count on everyone to be at practice, on time. Make sure homework is done and studies are not neglected. We can not afford to lose any players for any reason. Stay on top of your health and your school work.

This was a great win.
