This was the game we HAD to
win. Losing today, to New Canaan, takes us out of the running
for the 2003 Championship. I was probably more disappointed
in my performance today, than I was in yours. I really thought
I could have been much more emotional and supportive of all
your efforts than I was. I'll play this one over in my mind
for some time. Obviously, the presence of their two defensemen,
absent from our game in New Canaan, made a big difference. Playing
on our own surface, in the early morning, should have helped
us a little more than it did. I usually count on a highly emotional
effort in this particular game. And, as I said, I really felt
that I didn't supply the necessary example. I'm sure we'll move
on -- and, rededicate our collective efforts for our season
ending trip to FINLAND. I'll work harder.
Sure
you feel better and you sleep better when you win. But there's
nothing you can do about a game that is over. You can't change
it. You can replay it as many times as you want, but the score
is always the same. All you can do is learn from it and look
ahead to tomorrow.. -- Walter Alston
