I have to admit -- it would be great if we could give OTHER teams a LEARNING EXPERIENCE. However, we'll add one more "experience" to our season. Now that the tournament is over, how about if WE deal out the "experiences". You were right though, in saying that I wouldn't run the score up on an opponent. That is probably one of the reasons I love football so much. It is played hard, every game -- "there is no tomorrow" in the thinking of most football players. Every game means something. Then, when the score is settled, even if there is more time to "run up the score", the quarterback is instructed to "take a knee". There, in football, the most physical of all games, is true sportsmanship. We should all learn something from that. In baseball too, there are unwritten rules about "showing up opponents", with serious consequences if it's done. The teams we played were good -- everyone knew it -- there should be no joy in "trash talking" or in demonstrating superiority over an obviously weaker opponent. Just my thoughts .......

It's important to be a self-starter. Nobody is going to wind you up in the morning and give you a pep talk and push you out. You have to have a firm faith and belief in yourself. -- Lou Holtz

I've always felt it was not up to anyone else to make me give my best. -- Akeem Olajuwon
