It was nice to win the last
game before our break. During warm-ups, in an uncharacteristic
moment, I let myself think that we might be in for a tight
game. But, because of your solid, overall work ethic, good
habits, and strong play in our D-Zone, and aggresive play
in our O-Zone, we came out on the 'good end' of the score.
I was particularly pleased with our penalty kill, which, incidentally,
we were forced to use far more than I ever want to do again.
In what I know is a little bit of an inconvenience for you
and your family, I am convinced that when you arrive at the
rink an hour and a half before game time and have a chance
to prepare for the game, we play much, much better. Our passing
in the O-Zone showed what is fast becoming characteristically
unselfish play. When no one cares who gets the goal, everyone
seems to do better. When we return from break, we will have
a lot of work to do to get ready for our Connecticut trip
and our Invitational Tournament the week following. Until
then, I hope you all have a great Christmas Holiday.
