The best game of the season!
This was an unbelievable effort from every player. I can't
tell you how happy this victory makes me. We did everything
right. First, we played defense like there was no tomorrow.
Then, we played offense, like every player knew exactly what
every other player was doing AND thinking. Everything we touched
turned to gold. And, this was simply no accident. All your
hard work throughout every practice, every day, paid off handsomely.
You are a good team; this is obvious. That you care so much
about the success of all your teammates, is the one reason
the team does so well. You simply don't care who gets the
credit for the final goal. You realize that the goal is simply
the result of everyone doing his own job. I wish the season
weren't going to end next weekend. This is one team I would
love to take to Finland. You all deserve it so much. Congratulations
on one of the best wins I can ever remember!
Sloppiness
is a disease. Nobody ever built a great organization just
worrying about the big things. It's the little things that
give you the edge. If the equipment manager in the locker
room doesn't check his equipment properly, the player senses
it, the sloppiness gets into his bloodstream and the disease
spreads. The important thing is to find people who are committed
to detail and to standards of excellence. -- Joe Paterno
